Zenery's POV

If I had less of a rage threshold, Briar would currently have his head in the soulless plain of fire, and his body in the outer space regions of my native plain. Of all the things for that ridiculous, bone headed, idiotic, drunkard who calls himself a human to do, he had to do the ONE thing that would enrage Set, the boy who, need I remind you, KILLED SOMEONE ON ACCIDENT WITHOUT RAGE. Now imagine that power going out of control with rage behind it. That is what that idiot Briar was toying with. I don't know the specifics of Set's power, and now that Briar has so royally messed up I wont know for a much larger amount of time than I had originally hoped, but I do know that any Elementalist's power is enhanced and more uncontrollable when they are subjected to extreme anger. Luckily for Briar, Set seemed too stunned for any of his power to be set off. Luckily again, I had been watching them and noticed when things seemed to be going awry. Briar only got Set's glasses partially off of his face before passing out, and I was able to put them back into place with my power before anything else could happen. Of course Briar's actions effected Set anyways, as I knew they would, and he ran out of the room before anyone could say anything, let alone notice or react. A week passed before I deemed it favorable to attempt to converse with Set again, who hadn't said a single word to anyone since the incident. I found him sitting in one of the seemingly infinite hallways this school seemed to own. It was after our last class that day which was Pyrotechnic Runes with Prof. Vantas. I had to admit he was getting better at teaching us, though both his temper and mouth were still as foul as ever.
When I saw Set he seemed to have the locket in his hand again, and I was still roughly 20 feet away. I didn't want him running away from me, or avoiding me, so I decided on a silent approach. He looked to be very concentrated so I was hoping to arrive unnoticed. I inhaled deeply and calmed my mind. Footsteps were loud, and could be sensed by their vibrations. Flight however was silent. I concentrated, and felt myself lift off of the ground a few inches. It was just enough. I angled myself forwards, and floated silently over to Set. I had been practicing this ever since I first learned of it in my native plain. I still wasn't very good, but I could levitate a small amount and move with much less effort now.
Once I was besides Set I slowly released my power. The landings, however, were still not very good, and I landed with an audible tap. Set looked up at me, surprised. I could see his body tense up as I sat down next to him, much like that of an antelope ready to flee. Unthinkingly I grabbed his arm.
"Don't run away from me. I want to help."
